Mexico City Metro Faces Delays

The Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro of Mexico City (CDMX) faces difficulties in the operation of the trains this Tuesday, February 18, 2025, affecting several of its lines and causing considerable delays for users. Since the early hours of the morning, there have been reported issues with the departure of trains on Line 3, Line 12, and Line 8, leading to significant crowding of passengers on the platforms. A waiting time of more than eight minutes is reported.

On Line 6, the service remains stable, and the Metro is progressing well. On the other hand, Line 7 has registered a high influx of users at all stations due to the slow progress of the trains, so precautions are advised. As for Line 8, the service is halted due to a person allegedly throwing themselves onto the train tracks, suggesting alternative routes.

On Line B, several stations show a high demand for passengers with a waiting time of seven to ten minutes due to overcrowded trains. On Line 2, a good progression of trains is reported with a waiting time of five minutes, although there is also high demand. The Zócalo/Tenochtitlan Station remains open.

On Line 3, there is maximum passenger demand from the Indios Verdes station to Universidad, resulting in a waiting time exceeding seven minutes in some cases. Additionally, on Line A and Line B, a slow service progression is experienced.

It is noteworthy that Line 8 of the Metro had its service affected because a person threw their skateboard onto the tracks, prompting authorities to cut power to remove it. On Line 9, a problem with train departures at Pantitlán has been reported, advising to take alternate routes. In contrast, Line 4 shows low user demand and stable service, while Line 5 observes a low influx of passengers.

In summary, the operation of the Metro in CDMX is affected by various incidents across different lines, resulting in delays and recommendations for alternative routes for users during this journey.
